The SCM25001 is an integrated watchdog timer module with a DPDT (2 Form C) relay output and asynchronous serial control. The host computer to be supervised can establish a timed operation of the relay, after which the module will automatically reset the relay. If the host sets the timer again before the established time, the timed operation continues. If the host loses control, the timer will operate the relay on its own when the time expires. The isolated dry contact output can thereby be used to provide an indication of the operational status of a control computer or contribute to the fail-safe operation of a critical peripheral. An overmolded laminate package with wire terminals supports direct integration in an industrial environment.
